The first release from 3QREQ RECORDS is a 5 tracks limited EP "QUESTIONS" by Kiki Hitomi & gorgonn as "Dokkebi Q" coming out of Dalston via Japan. The base sound of this EP comes from roots reggae dub but is thoroughly twisted up by evil synth lines, breaks, DSP and old, analogue, dubby effects with a hint of far-east flavor. Check out KiKi Hitomi's melancholy & smoky vocals going head-to-head with gorgonn's tight & heavy rolling tracks!!

Hybrid mutant heavy reggae dub tunes mixed with breaks electronica, kinda like The Slits gone nuts with a computer. Good production debut release for band and label.
Rough Trade
Dokkebi Q's sound is high-impact dark dub, playing with audio technology as if it were a toy. Super heavy sub-bass, metalic clanks and reverberant vocals mean that many kinds of tone come and go freely between left and right channels in the pitch black stereo space. Their mutant ensemble makes my brain sway and excites me no end. I couldn't get enough.. Because the DTM environment has been evolving very fast at the consumer level. People can make music and master their tracks at home on their PC much easier than before. The movement of making music in a personal environment seems to have a bright future and all our editorial staff were greatly encouraged how Dokkebi Q have been proving this with their use of the latest technology to create their sound.
